As most of us know Apple comes out with a new iOS device about every year. Some people feel like their current iOS device is slower or crap when a new device comes out and rushes to buy the newer one. Some of us wait.
I would buy a new one right away if I had the money. So here are some rules I set for myself.
For iPad and iPod Touch
For iPod Touch’s and iPad’s I would recommend upgrading them every 2 or 3 years or Apple no longer provides software updates.
For iPhone
At the end of July I wrote a post on how to Completely Uninstall Mac Apps. Most programs on windows normally include a uninstaller. Some of the app uninstallers leaves behind files and registry entries. So to completely uninstall Windows programs you can use a tool called Revo Uninstaller which you can download it at http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. You can get a pro and free version. I personally use the free version and i think it works just fine but the pro version has more features which you might find interesting for you, so you can check out the chart on the download page.
Double click on the program you want to uninstall and then click yes. It then asks you to select a uninstall mode and I always pick advance as it seems to work for me then I click Next.
It then creates a restore point and then analyse the app. It then asks you if you are sure that you want to completely remove the program and all of its components starts the built-in install, follow that like a normal uninstall. Once the normal uninstaller finishes it goes back to Revo and then you can press next.
Revo then scans for leftover files and registry entries, this might take a while. When it’s complete the green bar will be 100% full and you may press next.
Select the files you want to delete and press delete. I normally just press select all and then delete. Then wait while it deletes the files, then press next. Then it normally shows registry entries if you have any, I didn’t for this app so couldn’t show that but it’s basically the same as the leftover file. Then press next, your done with Revo. Uninstall another program or empty your trash if you want.
I wanted to get rid of unused apps on my Mac. I knew that you can drag an application in the trash to remove it, but some apps will leave behind settings, etc. I found some paid apps to remove apps completely but since
I’m cheap so i wanted a free app. I found one! Its called AppCleaner by FreeMacSoft. It allows you to drag applications on your Mac on to it and it then searches for other files that normal uninstalling would leave behind. It then lets you delete the app and left over files.
You just drag an app or a selection of apps in into AppCleaner.
Then you press the delete button, its plays a sound and then the app and related files are in your trash to delete! Really nice and simple to use. It also allows you to uninstall widgets. I give this app 5 out of 5 stars.
